Martijn Caspers obtained his PhD in 2012 at the Radboud University Nijmegen (adviser: Erik Koelink) on the theory of locally compact quantum groups. In 2012-2017 he hold postdoctoral positions and a Marie-Curie fellowship at the universities of Besançon, Münster and Utrecht. Since 2017 he was appointed as an assistant professor at TU Delft. In 2019 he was awarded a prestigious NWO Vidi grant as well as the Zemánek prize for contributions to functional analysis and operator theory under the age of 35. Martijn Caspers his research concerns the area of Operator Algebras – the mathematical framework for quantum mechanical systems and movement of small particles. His contributions involve connections to several different fields involving the theory of quantum groups, non-commutative probability, harmonic analysis and von Neumann algebras.
