Dejan Gajic
Dejan Gajic is an assistant professor at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. He obtained his undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics at Utrecht University and then moved to the University of Cambridge to complete a master’s programme in theoretical physics (Part III of the Mathematical Tripos). He stayed on in Cambridge to obtain a PhD degree in mathematics in 2016, under the supervision of Mihalis Dafermos. After spending a year at Imperial College London as a Chapman Fellow in the department of mathematics, he returned to Cambridge in 2017 as a Junior Research Fellow at King’s College. Since 2021 he has been an assistant professor at the Radboud University.
Dejan’s main field of interest is mathematical general relativity, which lies at the intersection of analysis, geometry and theoretical physics, and revolves around proving theorems concerning Einstein’s equations of general relativity by developing methods in nonlinear partial differential equations, differential geometry and geometric analysis. His research has focused in particular on studying gravitational waves emanating from dynamical black holes and determining the singularity properties of dynamical black hole interiors.
