Jan van Neerven
Jan van Neerven (1964) studied biology and mathematics at the University of Amsterdam. He obtained his PhD in mathematics at Leiden University in 1992. After having held post-doctoral positions at Caltech and the University of Tuebingen, he moved to Delft University of Technology in 1996 with a KNAW Research Fellowship. After being tenured in 1996 and promoted to associate professor in 2000, he was appointed as Antoni van Leeuwenhoek professor in 2006. He held a vidi subsidy from 2002 to 2007 and a vici subsidy in 2007 to 2014. Van Neerven served on several national advisory committees and from 2012 to 2017 he was editor-in-chief of the membership magazine Nieuw Archief voor Wiskunde of the KWG. As of 2019 he is editor-in-chief of Indagationes Mathematicae, the mathematics journal of the KWG.
